In recent months web sites have appeared selling gift certificates for skydiving and appear to be representing a skydiving center in your area. They make wild claims that they have hundreds of skydiving schools across the country and you are dealing with the main reservation center. The truth is that there has never been a nationally owned chain of skydiving schools. These sites are operated by Internet Gift Certificate Brokers that add markup to the price and add confusion to a straightforward process.
They make claims that they have the highest skydiving safety record, use the best equipment, have been serving the local area for a long time, offer the least expensive skydive, and have the closest jumping location to metropolitan areas. An alert consumer will notice these "businesses" have multiple web sites that look very similar, have very general information and steer you to a national call center.
Please don't fall for on-line marketing ploys. People who buy these on-line certificates usually have to drive long distances, because so few skydiving centers accept them. When a customer finds out the certificate is not honored at a local skydiving center, and tries to get a refund...most often no refunds or transfers are available.
These websites are actually nothing more than a middleman or gift certificate brokers, which costs you money. Be leery of their many misrepresentations!

They are now using local area codes to make you think they are local. You will be transferred to a call center probably in Georgia.
Check Google Maps for an address.
Look on the website for an actual address, directions and map.
Look on the website for a staff page.
Look on the website for the actual airport.
Most skydive centers are located away from major cities to avoid air traffic.
The absolute best way to know you are dealing with a real skydive center is to stop by for a visit and meet the staff.
